About
Goal:
The purpose of the Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin program is to engage men to become advocates and to reclaim their role to end all forms of violence towards Indigenous women and girls. We work to accomplish this goal through education and awareness, as well as individual and group supports.
Who We Serve:
- Indigenous men and male youth (13+) who are proactively seeking cultural resources and supportive services in the movement to end violence against women
- Indigenous men and male youth who were or are currently involved in the justice system
Program Objectives:
- To empower Indigenous men and youth to take ownership and responsibility towards ending violence towards Indigenous woman and girls.
- To promote resiliency by acknowledging and resolving trauma and identifying alternatives to violence.
- Reduced stigma around conversation on violence against Indigenous women and girls.
- Increased collaboration between Friendship Centres and Delivery Sites, levels of government and other organizations to support efforts to reduce instances of violence against indigenous women and girls.

Kizhaay Anishinaabe Niin Journey – 12 week curriculum based program the uses the 7 grandfather teachings to promote healthy masculinity and help reduce violence towards Indigenous woman and girls.
